About SIX.TWO Editions

About

On February 06, 2023 deadly 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes created widespread devastation in Turkey and Syria, followed by days of aftershocks. On February 20, the Turkish city of Hatay, located in the same region, was struck again with a 6.3 magnitude earthquake. The earthquakes impact over 20 million people in Turkey and 8 million in Syria, leaving more than 50,000 dead. The devastation is wide-spread and will require years of recovery, with millions of displaced people in need of shelter and a consistent supply of basic needs including food, water, clothing and hygiene products.

SIX.TWO Editions is a photo print sale running from March 10 to March 20, in which over 200 photographers have generously and with open hearts made their work available for purchase at an affordable price with all net proceeds donated to vetted, non-governmental organizations leading the way in recovery efforts and organizational needs on the ground in the earthquake region.

Witnessing the sort of tragedy and suffering created by events like the earthquakes, one can feel a very visceral, human urge to want to help without knowing exactly how to help in an effective way. It is our hope that this print sale will provide an avenue for members of our photographic community - and photography lovers in general - the opportunity to provide support to the millions of people currently in need while in turn acquiring original artwork created by a group of incredibly talented photographers.
